Cemetery was donated by Bernt Georgeson in 1902 from his farm "Oakland Farm" (hence
the name) for the burial of his son Walfred Berntson. It is non-denominational,
although primarily Baptist. Most (but not all) of the burials are Berntsons or
Berntson relatives. It has had a Berntson as sexton since its founding and the
current sexton and caretaker is Ron Berntson. |

Petri Lutheran Church founded in 1888 in Popple Township, Clearwater (at that
time Beltrami) County in Simon and Louise Knutson's home by Rev Lars Jerdee. Cemetery
begun on land donated by Lars Sovick in Columbia Township in 1892 (Lars had buried
his wife on his farm in 1891). Church was built about 1894. J.R. Vaaler was pastor
1892-1895. G.P. Nesseth was pastor 1895-1918. Church was closed in 1966. Cemetery

Slovak and Czech Cemetery. Three Slovak Evangelical Lutheran families settled
at Tabor in 1884 and conducted their first church service in 1887 at the home
of Thomas Kerestes. A tornado destroyed the church in 1929 but rebuilt and dedicated
in 1930. |
