Wiley Pope: USGS map Norwood. WPA 1936: started in 1871, about 3 acres of land,
abandoned in 1878 over parish disagreement when majority of members erected church,
school & cemetery at different location; originally about 15 interments, some
moved to new location; "now" (1936) "about seven graves," owned by Herman Tanke.
GenWeb: "According to Debbie and Greg Boe, this congregation was part of St. Paul's
Evangelical Reformed Church. This area was a farm field in 1990 and had been for
some time." |

Trans DB (with Gotaholm?); trans Barbara Carlson @ Carver Co Hist Soc "Note: Trinity
Lutheran Cemetery, formerly Evangelical Swedish Lutheran Cemetery was laid out
in 1877, under the pastorship of Jonas Alm. The original site of the first Swedish
Lutheran church was near Swede Lake, south-east of Watertown and as was the custom
of the time, a small cemetery adjoined the church. The congregation grew and a
larger church was needed, the new site being in the Village of Watertown. At the
time the new cemetery was being prepared in the village, some graves from the
Swede Lake site were moved to the new site." WPA 1936: opening 1877; platted in
1888.Transferred from Swedish Lake Lutheran Cemetery in 1887, ownership Swedish
Lutheran Church (Trinity Luth 2003). Reference: 65th Anniversary Book of Swedish
